Wishing You Well

My friends mum had a bad fall this weekend and has broken her elbow! I know - ouch! She was so brave though, don't think I would have been if I was in that situation. I made her this get well card and will be dropping it round for her tomorrow. Get well soon!

I made a concertina fold card and covered it with some lavender and lime papers I had in my box - forget where I got them from. I added a band of dolly lace (Martha Stewart punch) and stamped some flourishes. All the edges have then been distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks (Lavender and Chipped Saphire).

I used this beautiful Magnolia stamp and coloured her with my Pro Markers. A few gems and flower embellishments and she is done.

No Peeking.

I used this great sketch by Lena Katrine from the lili of the valley challenge to create my card.

This Christmas bunny is so sweet. I have coloured him with my beloved promarkers and distressed the edges with bundled sage and black soot Tim Holtz distressed inks.
The papers are from g.c.d studios (joyful peace collection). I added ribbon, gems and some holly leaves and berries.

I cut the ring of light from around the candle and backed it with some angelina fibres to give it some sparkle.
The Image is the spritzed with Glimmer Mist and i added stitching around the elements as a finishing touch.

Playtime!

Hi, hope you have been having a good weekend! I woke up with a cold this morning so I am consoling myself with some crafting and hot chocolate!

I love this digi stamp from Simply Betty Stamps and thought it would look cool in a School of Ghouls.
I used an orange and a teal co ordinations card which I scrunched up and then distressed the edges with just a black memento ink pad. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the scalloped boarder.

I added some ribbon and orange gromlets and sprayed the black card with a gold glimmer mist.

Hope you like !

The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge

So the weekend is nearly over but I thought I would have one last crafting session before the daily grind begins in full.
The Burtonesque Dolls  challenge this time is to create a new candy for Willy Wonka.
I loved doing this it was another excuse to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (as if you need one).
I decided to make a chocolate bar so I bought a bar of chocolate to make the wrapper for - actually I bought two, one two eat while I was designing the other.

I used a gorgeous Digi stamp from Simply Betty Stamps and flipped his image. I added detail to his hat and shirt with a fine line marker and then coloured him with my Pro Markers. I used some black coordination's card and embossed it with my Tim Holtz embossing folder and then sanded it to distress it.

I figured the only fitting flavour would be Wang Doodle & Walnut. Obviously only 100% organic Wang Doodles used for the ingredients - country of origin Lumpa Land.
The chocolate bar has the Squirrel Sorted seal of approval to indicate only the best Walnuts have been selected and used.

Sounds delicious doesn't it!

Gone Fishing!

I love this little guy. Not sure about you but men's cards always cause me a problem.
I made this for my Uncle's 65th birthday he is a keen fisherman.
I stamped the Lili of the Valley image and coloured him with my H20s. The DPs are from my stash. It has been distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Antique Linen, Tea Dye & Brushed Corduroy.

I made the fishing fly from a jump ring which I bent into a hook shape. I then took the threads from a gold organza ribbon and tied them to the wire.  I added a green feather and then wrapped the remaining frayed ribbon around the feather to keep it tight and finished it off with some green cotton. Not sure how well it would work at catching fish but it looks cute on the card.

I then plundered my brothers fishing tackle box and added fishing line with lead weights. My little brother (I say little he is 29) tied the line to the spinner for me ( he informs me that no self respecting fisherman would tie them in any other way) and there you have it !
I hope you like it !

Searching in the Snow

Christmas cards in August! - I know, I know, but you have to start some time and there is something quite satisfying about sitting in a T shirt thinking about snow.

I have used a Lili of the Valley stamp and coloured her with my pro markers. I had lots of fun with my embossing powders 'snow white', I haven't used my embossing powders for ages and it was so much fun getting them out - and everywhere. I am not the neatest crafter!

I spritzed each of the individual elements with Glimmer Mist and then added ribbon and some snow flake embelishments I had in my craft box.

See you soon and only 111 days till Christmas -  but who's counting.

Thinking of You!

It is finally the weekend and work is over for another week. Only 48 hours left to craft before I have to go back to work.
I have been dreaming of this card for the last two nights and last night I decided it was time to make it.

I used a Lili of the Valley stamp which i bought this week ( I have an addiction!) and coloured it with my trusty pro markers. The papers are from g.c.d studies 'Ella Blue' 12" x 12" pad ( again another addiction mmmmn DPs ).

I distressed all the edges and used Tim Holtz distress ink pad 'chipped saphire' to grunge up the edges, paper flowers I put together and the lace behind the tears adding texture.

I hope you like it - got to get back to crafting see ya!
